Staff Positions

Site Director

Responsibilities
  • Lead tutoring program site in weekly 90 minute sessions
  • Communicate and uphold the program's work ethic and culture
  • Provide support for student's academic and emotional needs
  • Improve tutoring experience through observational techniques and constructive feedback
  • Work with the program team to plan and implement Tutor Trainings, initial Tutor and Student recruitment and enrollment, periodic field trips and team-building events
Specifications
  • September 2010 - June 2011 commitment
  • 8-10 hours per week
  • Preference given to applicants with Spanish fluency
  • Preference given to upperclassmen
  • Successful applicants must be available for in-person training Spring 2010

Assistant Site Director

Responsibilities
  • Assist Site Director
  • Build relationships with the program's students, parents and teachers
  • Devise creative methods for inspiring Tutors in their roles as educators and public servants
  • Create a supportive environment for Tutors
Specifications
  • September 2010 - June 2011 commitment
  • 8-10 hours per week
  • Preference given to applicants with Spanish fluency
  • Successful applicants must be available for in-person training Spring 2010

Assistant Program Director

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Financial Officer, securing funding from the ASSU, managing reimbursements, and collaborating on strategic arbitration of funds
  • Work closely with the Program Director and assist in executing many and varied executive duties
  • Collaborate with program team and assist with program projects

Internships

Development Intern

Responsibilities
  • Help write and submit grants
  • Develop approaches to establishing and maintaining relationships with potential and current donors
  • Manage communications with DreamCatchers' friends and supporters
  • Create informational packets for potential donors
  • Work closely with the Executive Director
Specifications
  • September 2010 - June 2011 commitment
  • 6-8 hours per week
  • Preference given to DreamCatchers Tutors
  • Preference given to applicants who can begin working remotely Summer 2010

Public Relations Intern

Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement ways to publicize the DreamCatchers program in the Palo Alto community and on the Stanford campus, including newspaper articles, press releases, and publicity events
  • Collaborate with Marketing Editor in the development of brochures, flyers and other materials essential to publicity efforts
  • Work closely with the Executive Director

Marketing Editor

Responsibilities
  • Create content for newsletters, website, press releases, brochures, and other publicity materials
  • Engage with stakeholders, including tutors, staff, students, families, and Board Members to determine appropriate content and marketing strategies
  • Work with the Marketing Director on publicity materials throughout entire development process; from ideation to the final product
  • Work closely with the Executive Director

Recruitment Intern

Responsibilities
  • Recruit Stanford students to join the organization as tutors and staff
  • Cultivate relationships with Education professors, community centers and dorms on campus to build a pipeline of talent into the organization
  • Identify and implement new and creative opportunities to more effectively recruit Stanford students
  • Work closely with the Program Director

Webmaster

Responsibilities
  • Manage, update, and improve DreamCatchers website regularly
  • Utilize social media networks to increase organization's online presence
  • Collaborate with Marketing Director and Publicity Director to ensure all content for the organization is coherent and complementary
  • Work closely with the Executive Director
Specifications
  • September 2010 - June 2011 commitment
  • 4-6 hours per week
  • Preference is given to DreamCatchers Tutors
  • Preference given to applicants who can begin working remotely Summer 2010

Video Producer

Responsibilities
  • Produce a 2-3 minute video showcasing the DreamCatchers' program, to be posted on our website and shown at fundraising events and functions
  • Collaborate with Executive Director on film's message and content

  • Preference given to applicants with strong film production skills
  • 6-8 hours per week
