After working in financial services for over 25 years, Jonake Bose has decided to focus on education, a field she is passionate about. As a first generation immigrant who benefited from a scholarship, she is passionate about giving back. She heard about DreamCatchers from Chris Bischof of EastSide Prep in the summer of 2018, and since then has been an active volunteer at DreamCatchers.
Professionally, Jonake was a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank, holding a diverse range of positions in commercial banking. Over the span of 25 years Jonake managed customer credit portfolios, drove corporate strategic initiatives, and led technology teams that developed solutions in credit, CRM and business operations.
Jonake has been an active and passionate volunteer within the Palo Alto youth and education community. She has been the chair on multiple elementary, middle and high school site councils. Jonake helped co-found, and serves as the parent advisor, for Camp Mac, a journalism camp that became the primary fundraiser for the Media Arts program at Palo Alto High School. She has served on the boards of Youth Community Service and SAGE (a travel and study abroad program). She has volunteered in admissions for her alma mater, Mt. Holyoke College. She has held Residence Hall director positions at the Univ. of South Carolina, Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and UC Berkeley.
Jonake and her husband have three children ages 17-26 all of whom studied in the Palo Alto schools. She grew up in India, came to the US as a foreign student, and received her BA from Mt. Holyoke College, and her MA in International Economics from the University of So. Carolina. She is currently completing a certificate in College and Career Counseling at UC Berkeley.
