Ana Perez-Hood

Ana is a native of Mexico and a first-generation with a college degree in her family. She came later to the USA to complete a Ph.D. in Geology at Rice University. She was an active parent volunteer at her two sons' schools, who graduated from Paly. Ana began working as an ELL instructional aide for the Palo Alto Unified School District in 2006, including a parent liaison for Latino families and later as a middle school student and family engagement specialist, serving socioeconomically disadvantaged and historically underrepresented students and their families. Since she retired in 2021, she has enjoyed many hobbies and, through DreamCatchers, the opportunity to stay in touch with many families she knows.
